According to them Life Skills are those skills which are essential for the all round development of a person. For students, basic Life Skills are Listening, Speaking, Reading and Discipline. For an elderly person the Life Skills mean a lot. For them they are Thinking Skills, Self Awareness, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Effective Communication, Empathy, Coping with Stress etc.

These skills are broadly divided into three categories. They are Thinking Skills, Social Skills and Emotional Skills. Thinking Skills are essential when you have to sort out any problem or to plan for the future. Social Skills are the basics of the Social Life. It teaches us how to interact or behave with others and how to put your points or clarify what you say. They also differentiated between sympathy and empathy. Sympathy means showing kindness to living beings. But empathy means capacity to feel someone is in distress. Very few people have this God gifted faculty. Many teachers put questions to make the point more clear. Really, it was a very fruitful workshop, as these skills are essential for teachers to understand the students of various background and to maintain peaceful and stress free social life. The workshop Mr. Vinod thanked all for this educational session.
